To access the Judges Portal, you will need to use the credentials sent to you by AAF National.

Judging may be hosted virtually. Please check with your local Chapter to verify requirements of physical entries. Requirement of physical entry submissions is at the discretion of the local AAF Chapter.

In some categories, entrants are allowed and/or required to upload additional digital examples of an entry. This is intended to provide more appropriate content for the judges, should a virtual judging solution be necessary. For most categories, there has been no change from prior competition years.

Please carefully follow all online submission guidelines provided within the entry system, in order to ensure that your work is properly represented during all three tiers of the American Advertising Awards competition.


AAF DC Awards Deadlines

Early-Bird Deadline: Friday, December 1, 2023
Standard Deadline: Friday, January 12th, 2024
Late Deadline: Wednesday, January 17th, 2024

We are so excited to be back for the 2024 American Advertising Awards! Once again, there will be NO PHYSICAL ENTRIES once again this year. All entries will be digital only. Please use any digital means necessary to best display your work—videos, images, PDF, etc. Most categories allow up to 10 images per entry.

See PDFs below for categories and rules to best help you decide where to enter. You can enter your work in more than one category so don't feel limited.

In addition to our usual award categories, we are introducing three new local-only awards:

  • The Extreme Makeover Award: Your best rebranding work.

  • The Zombie Award: Your best work the client left behind. Bring it back to life for this award.

  • The Influencer Award: Your best work that used a creator/influencer to spread a brand message through public sharing, commenting and expressions of opinions and content.

All professional and student entries must be submitted in the local competition where they were created. If an affiliated competition does not exist in your market (CBSA, DMA or MSA), please see
