The American Advertising Awards, home of the ADDY® Award, is one of the industry's largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year through competitions offered through local AAF clubs. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in advertising.

Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie to win ADDY Awards - recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards. Entry in your local Ad Club competition is the first step toward winning a national ADDY.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • All work entered in the American Advertising Award competition must have first appeared in the media between January 1 and December 31, 2018.
  • With the exceptions of Public Service Advertising and Advertising Industry Self Promotion categories, work entered must have been the result of paid creative services and media placement in the normal course of business (excluding student entries).
  • Entries must be submitted in the CBSA, DMA or MSA where the work was created (as defined by Arbitron or Nielsen for your local market). In the event that there are entrants located in markets not served by a local American Advertising Award affiliated show, the acceptance, processing, judging, forwarding and fees of those entries will be decided by the governing body of the district in which the entrant is located.

Professional (member)

  • Single Entry: $100
  • Campaign: $150
  • Local: $50

Professional (non-member)

  • Single Entry: $175
  • Campaign: $225
  • Local: $50

Student 

  • Single Entry $45
  • Campaign: $55
  • Local: $50

PAYMENT

In order to qualify, payment must accompany your entries along with Manifest form. Payments must be done in person during Submission Days using a credit card, or check to AAF Miami. Upon payment, we will confirm and validate your Club Membership standing.

SUBMIT YOUR WORK

Deadline to submit entries is January 25 at 7pm. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED THIS YEAR.

DROP-OFF/PAYMENT LOCATION:

Physical submissions are only required by the following categories: Sales & Marketing and Print Advertising (Categories 01A- 36), or any other Print related category.

Payments must be done in person during Submissions Days: Thursday, January 24th and Friday, January 25th between 3pm - 7pm.

Physical entries/payments must be made and droppped off at University of Miami, School of Communication:

No entries will be accepted after 7pm on January 25th. To be eligible for consideration of an American Advertising Award, all work must have been published or aired between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2018.
