WHAT ARE THE AMERICAN ADVERTISING AWARDS?

Entering the American Advertising Awards supports the entire advertising industry. The AAF, along with its local and district affiliates, use the proceeds to enhance advertising through programs such as public service, internships, advocacy groups, advertising education and consumer awareness.

HOW DO I WIN AN ADDY AWARD?

Selection of the most creative entry in each category is affected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry. A Gold ADDY is a recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the category. Entries that are also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive a Silver ADDY.

WHO CAN ENTER?

This competition is open to all creative services and industry suppliers including but not limited to advertising, graphic design, photographers, printers, newspaper, radio, television, web, marketing and communication professionals as well as students studying in these areas. All creative submissions must have run between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024. All submissions entered into the AAF Suncoast competition must have been created in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Hardee and Desoto counties. If the work was not created in one of these counties, please ensure you enter through the correct club in the

AAF Fourth District

CAN STUDENTS SUBMIT ENTRIES?

Yes! The Student Division of the American Advertising Awards competition, sponsored by the AAF and Ad 2 National, is a unique national awards program designed specifically for college students. Work entered at your local level can move up to the regional and national judging -- just like the work entered by professionals across the country.

Applicants must be enrolled full- or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution. Students may submit work developed specifically for this competition or from previous projects or student contests.

Work must be created while the entrant is a student not employed in the advertising industry. Student interns are eligible to enter as well. Before submitting online, please review the categories and rules of entry:

DO WE NEED TO SUBMIT PHYSICAL ENTRIES THIS YEAR?

No physical entries are required. It’s important to upload a PDF of the ENTIRE document or a video showing your entry to facilitate online judging. In some categories, entrants are allowed and/or required to upload additional digital examples of an entry. This is intended to provide more appropriate content for the judges. For example, if you submitted an annual report or a printed package as your entry, you can attach photos of the interior and exterior of the piece as well as a video highlighting key pieces of the work for the judges to watch. Since these images and videos are replacing the physical entry, be mindful in making sure these pieces represent your entry in the best way possible!

DEADLINE to ENTER: January 8th, 2025.

EARLY BIRD ENTRIES: November 1, 2024 - December 1, 2024, Professional entries will be discounted $10, and Student entries will be discounted $5.

REGULAR ENTRIES: This applies to creative work submitted between Dec. 2nd, 2024 to Jan. 12, 2025. Standard entry rates apply, when you turn in materials within this window.

LATE ENTRIES: If you’re submitting work between Jan. 9, 2025 to Jan. 11th, 2025, then your entries are considered late. A $40 late fee will be applied to any work turned in after 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 11. For students, there is a late fee of $10.
