In some categories, entrants are allowed and/or required to upload additional digital examples of an entry. This is intended to provide more appropriate content for the judges.

Please carefully follow all online submission guidelines provided within the entry system, to ensure that your work is properly represented during all three tiers of the American Advertising Awards competition.

On February 27, 2027, we’re taking over the legendary Uptown Theatre (3700 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111). Enter the competition, celebrate 125 years of club history, and see who will take home a coveted Addy. 🏆 Special Categories & Recognition

  • The Cowan Award: Want your project considered for this local honor? If your story and locations heavily highlight Kansas City, submit your project to the Local Only category - Cowan Award. Entry is FREE if the project is already submitted elsewhere in the competition, or $100 as a standalone entry.

  • The Mosaic Award: All entries will automatically be considered for the Mosaic Award, which recognizes work that best exemplifies a spirit of diversity and inclusion.

  • Great Work That Never Ran: Did you create amazing work this year that the client put the kibosh on? Enter it in this Local Only category so the community can finally admire its brilliance!

 

🛑 Important Rules & Competition Updates

  • 🤖 AI Disclosure Policy: All entrants are now required to acknowledge or deny the use of AI for each submission. If an entry features more than 50% AI usage, please ensure it is properly placed in the corresponding AI category.

  • 💻 100% Virtual Judging: Our local competition will feature entirely virtual judging this year! Judging will be done online using the digital content provided during your entry process. Physical submissions are NOT required.

  • 👤 Anonymous Submissions: To maintain strictly impartial judging, submissions and supporting links must not identify the submitting agency, school, or individual (unless entered in a Self-Promotion category).

  • 📜 Trophy & Program Credits: Winners may list up to two credits on their trophy (space permitting) and up to 10 credits in the awards program and presentation. Please place the two credits you want on the physical trophy in positions 1 and 2 of your submission form.

  • ⚠️ Re-submission Fees: Please double-check your member or non-member status before checking out. All entry fees are non-refundable. Entries submitted incorrectly will be assessed a $25/entry fee to correct and re-submit.
