Due to ongoing concerns about COVID-19, the American Advertising Awards competition rules, categories and entry procedures for 2020-2021 have been modified to allow for the possibility of remote online judging.

In some categories, entrants are allowed and/or required to upload additional digital examples of an entry. This is intended to provide more appropriate content for the judges, should a virtual judging solution be necessary. For most categories, there has been no change from prior competition years.

Please carefully follow all online submission guidelines provided within the entry system, in order to ensure that your work is properly represented during all three tiers of the American Advertising Awards competition.

Please note that online judging is approved for THIS YEAR ONLY.

The American Advertising Awards, home of the ADDY® Award, is one of the industry's largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year through competitions offered through local AAF clubs. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in advertising.

Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie to win ADDY Awards - recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards. Entry in your local Ad Club competition is the first step toward winning a national ADDY.

 

CALL FOR ENTRIES

 

AAF Triangle is accepting entries for the 2021 American Advertising Awards. All entries must be submitted digitally (no more searching for clear envelopes). All judging will be done online (this year only). And the Award Show will be a virtual party (BYOB).

 

EARLY BIRD DEADLINE: Monday, Jan 18*

FINAL DEADLINE: Friday, Jan 29

AAF Member Single Entry: $100  |  Campaign Entry: $125

Non-Member Single Entry: $120  |  Campaign Entry: $150

Student Single Entry: $35  |  Student Campaign Entry: $45

*Early Bird Discount (Professional Entries Only): $20 off each entry

 


 

HOW TO ENTER


1. Download and read the detailed instructions on how to properly enter: Professional Rules & Categories / Student Rules & Categories

2. Log-in to the Online Entry Software, or choose "Professional Entries" or "Student Entries" to set-up your account and begin uploading your entries. Links on left side of page. 

3. Submit Entries (for all categories) entirely online. Carefully review the detailed instuctions.

4. Submit Invoice/Manifest Form with your payment. This form lists all of your entries and shows total cost. You may submit more than once. Entries must be paid for by credit card by the deadline date. Submissions are not considered final until payment is received. 

5. Consider becoming a member of AAF Triangle and save on your entry fees. Professional members save $20 per entry.

SPECIAL AWARDS


The Best of Show is the top award given to the entry that best represents the mission of the American Advertising Awards competition and the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. (Public Service and Self-Promotion categories are not eligible for Best of Show).

Judges Choice Awards are given by each judge for the entry, from any category, they found to be their personal favorite. 

The MOSAIC Award is given to the entry, from any category, that best exemplifies a spirit of diversity and inclusion. Criteria for this award is a demonstration of understanding of and sensitivity to the needs, concerns and buying practices of multi-cultural audiences.
